Saturday 2nd July 2011 ** SEGUE has teamed up with new music learning company Music Works to deliver two great summer workshops for adults (16+): Understanding Your Voice and Introduction to Home Recording. The courses will be led by experienced professionals Iain Court (production) and Andy Lynham (vocals). The company's philosophy is all about empowering you to get the most out of your music, to create your own sound and they believe that you learn best when you're enjoying yourself. Understanding Your Voice is all about helping you to develop your own voice. By the end of the day you should have a solid understanding of how the human voice actually works and the basis of all effective vocal technique. Delivered in a fun, relaxed manner, the day will combine practical exercises with invaluable, no nonsense information. Attending this course should be a must for anyone wanting to use or develop their singing voice and is a precursor to all the other Music Works vocal courses. This is a group workshop and you will be expected to sing and perform exercises as a group. No one will be expected to sing solo or in front of the rest of the group on this course, unless of course they want to! The Introduction to Home Recording course is all about helping you to develop the skills and knowldege you need to produce fabulous quality recordings. Whether you have a world class professional studio at you disposal or a budget setup in your bedroom the process is the same. The course will provide an overview of the key techniques you need to get the best out of whatever setup you have, the different types of recording setup available, give you invaluable impartial advice about what kit will best meet your desired results and budget. Delivered in a relaxed and enjoyable environment, complete with a variety of home recording equipment. No previous recording experience is necessary.
