Young Essex Jazz and Essex Youth Jazz Orchestra
Spring 2010 sees Associate Artist Adriano Adewale working with the youth jazz ensembles of Essex Music Services on a new project to create some new repertoire and support the musical development of the groups. The project will culminate in a performance on Sunday 23rd May at the Lakeside Theatre at the University of Essex as part of the Brazilian Cultural Festival which takes place between 21st and 23rd May 2010. More details will follow.

CREATIVE PERCUSSION

A practical workshop led by Brazilian master percussionist Adriano Adewale which uses creative percussion techniques to explore rhythm, melody and harmony using a range of instruments inlcuding voice, drums, shakers, bells and gourds. Available either as a half day, a full day or as a bespoke series of workshops – e.g. making instruments out of recycled objects and creating music for a final performance.
