"The vibe is exhilarating." **** Manchester Evening news SEGUE is delighted to have been working closely with its Associate Artist, the outstanding Brazilian percussionist Adriano Adewale, since April 2007, developing both live and recording projects. In 2007, Adriano completed a live DVD recorded at St Martin's Church in Colchester with the support of Signals Media Centre, Colchester Arts Centre and Audio Plus. In 2008 the Adriano Adewale Group recorded and released their debut album SEMENTES on SEGUE Records. Produced by Gilad Atzmon the album features special guests Antonio Forcione and Gilad Atzmon. Live work included a UK tour in the spring and the group are about to embark on an autumn tour, which begain with a sell-out album launch date at Pizza Express Jazz Club, Soho. Performing in various festivals and venues, Adriano was introduced to Antonio Forcione and soon became part of the Antonio Forcione Quartet which has been performing all over the world. Other great collaborators he has worked with include: Jonny Phillips, Seu Jorge, Jonathan Preiss, Seb Rochford, Monica Vasconcelos, Andy Shaperd, Tuti Moreno, Rodolfo Stroeter, Modeste Hugues, Gustavo Marques, Netsayi Chigwendere, Julia Biel, Zoe Rahman, Steve Lodder and Ronu Majumdar. Working in partnerships with artists, he created sound tracks for: the Portuguese fine artist Monica de Miranda, the English dance company Stacked Wonky and a percussion based sound track for an animation movie based on the faiy tale “Little Red Riding Hood”. He also shared the stage with Oliver Mtukudzi (Zimbabwe), Tcheka(Cape Verde) and supported Cesaria Evora, Airton Moreira and Flora Purim, Jools Holland, Seu Jorge, and Boubacar Traore.
